KU students host Iftar party

Srinagar,Sept 29: The students of the Mehboob-ul-Alam hostel in Kashmir University hosted an Iftar party on Sunday.
The party was attended by university officials and several religious heads from across Srinagar.
Right from the early morning students of the hostel seemed busy in managing thing along with their warden. “This is first time in my life that I am the part of such a prestigious function therefore it is my duity to manage things properly so that the whole party will go smoothly,” said Sheikh Javid, a student of law department.

The Voice Chancellor kashmir university Prof.Reyaz Punjabi was the chief person on the occasion. Beside him, Registrar Kashmir University Syed Fayaz,chief warden, wardens of other hostels and Proctors were also present.

Interacting with the boarders of M.A Boys hostel, Vice Chancellor said, “This is my fortunate to share few moment with my students and as the head of an institution I will be happy if students feels comfortable in their hostels”. Answering to the questions raised by the students the Voice Chancellor assured the students that every facility will be provided to them within hostels like wi-fi(wireless internet),reading rooms, extending of the mosque near M.A hostel, providing internal infrastructure to the hostels etc.

Talking to Greater Kashmir Showkat Ahmad Shah, warden Mehboob-ul-Alam hostel said that, “we organized this Iftaar party to create favorable atmosphere among students and the main aim behind it was to fill the gap between the administration and the students in order to work effectively”. He further added that, “such parties provide us great opportunities to know each other which are the fundamental part of any institution”.

Proctor M.A Boys hostel Ajaz Monga said, “We are organizing Iftaar Party and calling people from the administration only because, we want our colleagues to be interacted with the university authorities”.

“All the students of the hostel are enjoying the party and I too,” said Ajaz Ganie, a chemistry student who has never enjoyed such movements since he has joined the university campus.
